Walter Schultz was a half brother to these boys. Kate died
14 December 1909. He cast his first Presidential vote for--
Abraham Lincoln, and had since supported the Republican Party.

- Farmed in his native country until immigrating to USA in 1850 andsettled in Burlington, Des Moines county Iowa. In 1862 he enlisted asa member of Company D, Twenty-fifth Iowa Infantry, served until June1865. Discharged Honorable, having been on various southernbattlefields. Married Annie. Moved to Wayne County Ia. Bill andClara born there. Then moved to North Central Kansas where he tradedhorse, harness, and wagon for 160 acres. Farmed, sold farm, boughtrestaurant, engaged in railroading for 2 yrs. removed to Buffalo Co.Ne. in 1890. Had several farms around the Ravenna Area. ShermanCounty and Buffalo County. He cast his first presidential vote forAbraham Lincoln. Was a Republican from then on. Had nine children ofhis own, then married Kate who had four of her own, and raised themas his own.
I still own the only farm left in the family that he owned. It wassold to his son William, then later, William had given it to hisniece (Delpha Gray-Duncan) whom he raised from infancy. I have keptit in the family and have no intention of selling it...... Jerry.
