Notes |
- "Was in the American Army in 1776, but deserted to British Army; was sentenced to death when captured but was reprieved and pardoned by the Interposition of Elisha Cornish Sr. In 1793, he was brought to capital trial for killing a child of Mr. Ackley of Bloomfield but was acquitted of murder on the ground of insanity." (Duncan, p.24 and Simsbury Soldiers of the War of the Revolution, p.83).
"Enlisted 4Mar1778. Des 1Mar1779. Re-joined 16Apr1779. Des 10Jun1779, caught, tried, executed 27Aug1779". (Simsbury Soldiers in the War of the Revolution, p.83). This could possibly be the wrong Ezekiel.
