"Lachlan MacLean (Aug. 8, 1826-1904) was married to Sarah Ann (Sally)Waldorf ( 1836-Mar. 1 1900). She descended from Anton Waldorff(1700-1777) and his wife, Maria Kehl (1702-1768) who are buried in theFairmont Presbyterian Church cemetery in New Jersey (I think that'sTewkesbury Township)- tombstone.
Anton's son, Martin Waldorf, was the only one in the Waldorf family tofight for the British during the American Revolution in the Indian Dept.under Col. Claus.
Martin's son, Martin, Jr.(Sally Ann's grandfather) was bapt. in TrinityLutheran Church, Stone Arabia, New York, Feb. 1772. The family fled tothe St Lawrence after martin Sr. was killed and settled in OsnabruckTownship(south of Finch). The two brothers, Anton and Engelburtus,migrated from Germany in the early 1700s. There is a Waldorf family *(abranch) still living in Munich. (I think all the Waldorfs(and variousspellings)living in the states are connected very distantly)."
