• Notes

  He emigrated to Ireland, arriving on circa 1590 (possibly from Norfolk). He was Commissioner of Plantations and held the office of Surveyor-General [Ireland] in 1602. He and Sir Laurence Parsons were joint supervisor of Crown lands in 1611. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle, County Dublin and later for County Wicklow He was created 1st Baronet Parsons [Ireland] on 10 November 1620. He was Lord Justice for Ireland when he was dismissed and imprisoned for suspected treason.
