"ENGINEER DEAD AT 35
LEWIS HENRY DOUGLAS
Death claimed a C. & E.I. locomotive engineer Sunday, July 18, 1937,when Lewis Henry Douglas 35, died at home on State Road 34 one-halfmile east of Foster Road in Indiana. Formerly a resident of Danville,Mr. Douglas moved about eight months ago to the home where he died at9 a.m. He was born in Fountain County, Ind., April 2, 1902, son ofWalter and Mabel Brooks Douglas. He was a member of the Brotherhoodof Locomotive Engineers and Firemen and of Benson Chapel M.E. Church.
Surviving are: the widow, Mrs. Bernice Moorman Douglas; the parents;four children, Meredith, 10, Kathryn Jane, 8, Robert Lewis, 7, andWalter Wayne 2; one brother, Walter Douglas, Louisiana; three sisters,Mrs. Alice Watson, Bronson, Ill., Mrs. Fay Fisher, Terre Haute, andMrs. Dorothy Clore, Danville.
The body was taken to the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. WalterDouglas, 31 Pennsylvania Avenue, city, to remain until taken toBerhalter Funeral Chapel for funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
