Got other info on Abijah's brother Benjamin Allen Skinner and sister Mary
Elizabeth Skinner Kearns Patillo, who also were in TX. Abijah left TX
sometime after his wife died, remarried in Meridian, MS, moved to Mobile,
AL, and ended up at Powderly, Jefferson Co, AL, not too far from son
Joseph Russell Skinner! Abijah died 6 Jan 1933 and is buried at Elmwood
Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL."

Some researcher apparentlymisidentified him as James Russell and that was perpetuated by others.His name actually was Joseph Russell Skinner. The "Joseph" part of hisname must be after Joseph Kearns, the dentist who Mary Elizabeth Skinner(Abijah's sister) married in Wilcox Co. AL.
According to info that one of the Skinner researchers found, Abijah andMary Elizabeth married their spouses in a double wedding ceremony inWilcox Co, AL on 10 Sep 1869."
