  Charles Semple writes: "Alexander died April 19, 1860 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He remained in PerthAmboy, New Jersey until 1828 when brother William became ill, and, whodied in March of the following year. Alexander took over the familybusiness and gave nephew Charles a "stake" to start a similar business inSt Louis, i.e., Iron & Steel. Alexander married Elizabeth Irwin(b. 1793 - d. July 21, 1866) on Sept 11,1827. She was the daughter of Major John Irwin of the Revolutionary Warand Mary Pattison. Alexander and Elizabeth had one child, Mary PattisonSemple, b. 1834 and died Jan 8, 1914 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Daughter Marynever married, ending Alexanders' descendants."
