  The Houstons of Jordanhill were of a very old Galloway family, the Houstons of Busbie, now represented by Sir George Houston Boswell. Andrew Houston, of Jordanhill, married Margaret Wallace, sister of John Wallace of Kelly, and left a son, Sir Robert Houston, whose grandson, Captain J. F.
