- Paul Trapier was educated at Cambridge, and raised rice at Windsor until
1812, at which time he sold the plantation to his uncle Benjamin Trapier
to pay off the debts of Thomas Shubrick, his wife's grandfather. They
moved to Belvedere, Alicia's father's house on the Cooper River.
