Information out of The Scotts Peerage Vol II - Page 297 - Stuart,Marquess of Bute.which details the following:-
Dougal, Commissioner for Buteshire 1705. Protested against the Union,Imprisoned in 1708 on suspicion of favouring a Jacobite invasion. In thesame year he was elected M.P. for Buteshire and also for perthshire, madeno election which to sit for; was appointed a Lord of Session andCommissioner of justiciary 1709 under the title of Lord Blairhall: died16 June 1712. (1). He married, 10 March 1700 (2) Mary, daughter andheiress of John bruce, younger of blairhall, Perthshire, and had issue: -
1. James of Blairhall, succeeded 1712, died 1762. MarriedMary daughter of David Crawford of Allantown,
and had issue, - three sons and three daughters.
2. John of Annefield, died 1760. Married Ann, daughter ofFrancis, Earl of Moray, had three sons and five daughters. (3)

I thought you might be interested in the following information I foundin
Scottish Documents listing on the Internet regarding
Mary Bruce and Dugald Stewart
I have also found a will belonging to a John of Annfield from Scottish
Documents on the Internet. I purchased a copy of this will and have
extracted some information from it
"Stewart John 31/7/1760 of Annfield, esq., parish Torryburn St
Andrews Commissary Court"
Extract from John Stewart of Annfield Esq. Parish Torryburn - Dunblane
Commissionary Court 31 Jul 1760 - Inventory
"The Testament Dative and Inventory of the goods gear and debts of Vmqle
John Stewart of Annfield Esqr within the parish of Torryburn and Shire of
Fife the time of his decease which was upon the 29th day of March last(29th
March 1760) by past faithfully made and given up by Lady Ann Stewartrelict
of the said defunct and Exer"x Dative qica Relict decreed to him after due
citation be publish edict and by decreed of the Commr of St Andrews dated
the thirteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred & sixty years (13th
July 1760). ......................
Summa Inventory and Debts is (£668.0s3¼) Sterling which in Scots money is
(£670.3s.4d) Scots salvo jus to calculs.................
The foregoing Testament is confirmed ----- the 31st day of July 1760 years
and Charles Stewart Eldest son of the said Defunct is become Cautioner for
the Exectt."
There is other information I am following up and thought you might be
interested in having it on your records I believe to be about John Stewart
of Annfield's brother

There is also a family tree on Roots Web which describes a Mary Bruce anda
Dugold Stewart as having a son called John of Blairhall - The submitters
information is by a Peter Ibbotson. I am trying to see if I can find out
more information about his source.
