Sir ALEXANDER RAMSAY of Dal|wolsy,*
who was served and retoured heir to
his grandfather, anno 1489.
He was a man of a prodigious stature, vast
strength of body, and great resolution, and
embraced every opportunity of exerting his
courage against the enemies of his country.
He married, 1st, lady Margaret Douglas,
daughter of George earl of Angus, by whom
he had a son,
Nichol de Ramsay.
He married,* 2dly, Nicholas Ker, relict of
Alexander lord Home, by whom he had a
daughter,
Margaret.
He was in great favour with king James
IV. whom he accompanied to the fatal field
of Flowdon, where he lost his life with his
royal master, on 9th September 1513, and
was succeeded by his son,
