" (John MacDonald , 4th Lord of the Isles, opposed the king's party. was summoned before parliament for treason, sued for pardon, restored to his forfeited estats on July 2, 1476). ."The seanachaids have recorded but very little of his life; but they declare him 'to have been a good and pious man' Enough is recorded to show that he was possessed of rare judgment, and maintained a peaceful demeanor.
