BIOGRAPHY
"A History of the Clan MacLean" by J.P. MacLean, page 48-49.
". . was lord of Duard and chief of MacLean during that eve
when great political changes were about to take place in the
Western Isles. . . " (John MacDonald , 4th Lord of the
Isles, opposed the king's party. was summoned before
parliament for treason, sued for pardon, restored to his
forfeited estats on July 2, 1476). ."The seanachaids have
recorded but very little of his life; but they declare him
'to have been a good and pious man' Enough is recorded to
show that he was possessed of rare judgment, and maintained
a peaceful demeanor. He lived and died one of the most
peaceful of his race."
