- Sir James Stewart of Pierston, who got a charter from King Robert I. of the lands of Pierston and Warwick Hill 'in Baronia de Cunmgham.' In the deed he is designed 'Jacobus Senescalli Alius quondam domini Johannis Senescalli, militis.' He was slain with two of his brothers, Alan and John,' at Halidon Hill, A.d. 1333. This Sir James, 4th son of Sir John Stewart of Bonkill, left three sons
