He goes on to point out
"According to the Scottish legends Fergus Mor Mac Erc was said to havereceived the stone of destiny from his brother Muiredach, who was HighKing of Ireland. From a simple process of deduction Muiredach's parentErc would have to be the progenitor of the Mac Erc dynasties of bothIreland and Scotland, in order for the accepted date of the founding ofScottish "Dal Riada" to be correct."

Chapter 12 : The Identification of the Mac Erc dynasty
12.1 The Connection of Ireland's Muiredach Mor Mac Erc to the "Scottish"Sons of Erc.
He says in chapter "12.4 Erc's sons who took possession of Alban" that:
"... we are told that Great Fergus was also known as Mac Misi (Mac Ness)Mor. '
In chapter "15.1 Erc's sons and the identity of the Pictish Kings." hesays:
"We are then informed in the Senchus that Erc had at least two sons bysomeone called Ness (Mac Misi)." and makes the case that tjhe great kingFergus Mor Mac Erc was Ness's son.
However in chapter 24.1.5 Columba's Genealogy David Dale says:
"Fearguso was by tradition another husband of Erc, the progenitor of theScottish kings. Fearguso means literally Fergus out of (Feargus a). Thiscould indicate that Fergus Mor Mac Erc was the son of Fearguso, whichmust have been another name for Loarn/Drust ..."
