  Alexander and Ann and their children departed Sydney 4th March 1851 they sailed per the clipper barque Artemisia and arrived in San Francisco bay on 26th May 1851. They returned to Sydney after five years. They departed Stewart St wharf, San Francisco, on 1st March 1856 and sailed per the schooner Jane A. Falkenburg (419 tons), arriving in Sydney on 14th April 1856.
