- Monumental Inscription at Colvend Churchyard
In memory of Henrietta Douglas, daughter of John Douglas, in Thorny-Hill of Colvend, who died there, 6th May 1849 aged 27 years. Also Janet Hume, his spouse, who died at same place, 28th of July 1858, aged 66. Also the said John Douglas, who died at the same place, 1st of July 1861, aged 91. William Douglas, who died 16th August 1883, aged 73. Jane Douglas, who died at Halfmark, 23rd June 1885, aged 68. 'He giveth his beloved sleep.' Mary Douglas, died at Dalbeattie, 7th September 1896, aged 67 years. Eliza Douglas, died at Half-Mark, 10th March 1901 aged 68 years.
