- (Research):In the family tree of Pierre Leduc and Ozeline Sauve the spelling of Hannah Perrault is incorrect. The surname of Hannah is spelt with a V not P. She was the wife of James Heaphy [our family]. Hannah Verrault is the Mother of [my husbands Grandmother] who was born Marguerite Mae O'Shea. The O'Shea passed away and Hannah then remarried a James Heaphy. Marguerite mae was a stepdaughter of James. Marguerite Mae's half sister Norah Heaphy was born to James Heaphy and Hannah Verrault in 1891. Norah then married Joseph Leonard Samuel Leduc, Son of Pierre Leduc and Ozeline Sauve.
Possible spelling is Verault.
Marguerite Mae O'Shea, my husband's Grandmother. She was born in Ireland in 1884 and came to Canada about two years after her birth. We have not found her immigration or passenger list as of yet but I imagine she came with her parents Hannah Verrault and Michael O'Shea. Hannah went by Henrietta, Hannah, Hattie but later she used Harriet. They had another daughter Catharine or a later name Edna Kathleen. She was born in 1888. The O'Shea father was drowned so the story goes which had to be after Edna was born. The next record of Hannah was the birth record of her youngest daughter Nora Ruth born in 1991. The husband at the time was James Heaphy. She would be step sister to her older siblings. Both girls were born in Kingston, Ontario. For some reason of which we are not sure why there was a record of Edna in 1901 listed in an institution. Unknown reason why. 12 years old at the time. Nora we know in 1901 was living with an Aunt in Ottawa. Nora was Blind and very likely was put into a special school there. Our Grandmother Marguerite was on a list of names in a convent also in Kingston. We think that some point James Heaphy must have cared for the two stepdaughters. No adoption record of them found. The girls were separated from each other it seems and Marguerite Mae married Edward Robinson my Husbands Grandfather. They were married in Buffalo in 1902. She used the surname Heaphy during life but she always said she was born O'Shea. Both younger girls were married in 1920 and 1922 in Ottawa and the parents both times named as Harriet Verrault and James Heaphy. Edna married a Henri Racine and Norah married Joseph Leonard Samuel Leduc, named SAM by Nora. Samuel was the Son of Pierre Leduc and Ozeline Sauve. Both girls lived and worked there until their death. Nora worked in a blind institute. We have many of her letters written to Marguerite in the 1940's which were interesting. Gran as we all called her and loved dearly passed in Goderich, Ontario until she died in 1967.
