John Percy Douglas b 1862 St George, Bristol - He emigrated to Australia around 1880 and later ran a company that made machinery to manufacture boot and shoes in Collingwood, Victoria. After his wife died in 1897 he sent his three surviving children to live with his three brothers in Bristol.
Ethel Douglas was born in Melbourne Australia and was the niece of William Douglas and daughter of his brother John Percy Douglas (1862-1930) who emigrated to Australia from Bristol around 1880.
Mary Ethel Douglas married William Bertie Cox on 13th April 1913 and the reception was at "The Woodlands", the home of William & Elizabeth Douglas in Court Rd, Kingswood. The house was located close to the junction with Hanham Rd and is now the car park for a care home and parish rooms.
