Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia,Extracted from the Original Court Records of Augusta County,1745-1800, 3 Volumes by Lyman Chalkley Referencing 50,000 individuals, this monumental work consists of court records pertaining to theScotch-Irish pioneers who first breached the mountain barrier sealingoff the Atlantic seaboard from the country west of the Blue Ridge. In1745, when Augusta County, Virginia was erected, its domain extendedfrom the Alleghenies to the Mississippi River, and from the northernpart of Tennessee to the Great Lakes. So, this stands as the supremesource of genealogical information for hundreds of thousands who tracetheir ancestry to Augusta County, and the Great Valley of Virginia.
