  1. 1.  Daniel W. Swick was born on 1 Oct 1843 (son of John Swick and Nancy Freed); died on 12 Mar 1919 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania; was buried in Concord Methodist Cemeter, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

    Notes:

Concord Methodist Episcopal Church, North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania 1835-1926 (Beaver Falls: Beaver Falls Review Print, 1926).

"OBITUARY of Daniel W. Swick. "Daniel W. Swick, aged 75 years, died Wednesday morning, March 12, 1919, at 2 o'clock at the home of his son, George B. Swick, in North Sewickley township. He was a member of the Concord M. E. church, and of the G. A. R., Co. H., 101st Regiment. The funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of his son, and interment will be in Concord cemetery. Mr. Swick leaves his wife, two daughters: Mrs. J. J. Stuber of Daugherty township, and Mrs. E. L. Frazier, of North Sewickley township, and four sons: Dr. J. Howard Swick, of Beaver Falls, now in France; Wm. A., of Boston, Mass.; Samuel O. and George B., of North Sewickley township. Also 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuber. Interment private.

"The deceased entered the Civil war at an early age and served his country faithfully and on his return entered the mercantile business in New Brighton, with E. R. Boots. Thirty years ago he moved to the farm in North Sewickley township, where he was known as an industrious farmer, a progressive citizen and earnest Christian. He belonged to that class who made the country better by his influence, all of which is nobly reflected in the upright character of the children now called upon to mourn his loss - a loss that falls with equal severity upon the faithful wife and companion of 50 years. A sad feature of the death of Daniel W. Swick is that his son, Dr. J. Howard Swick, now in France, was unable to see his father during last illness.

"By a provision of his will, Mr. Swick gave to the trustees of Concord Church and their successors in office, the sum of $300.00, the interest of which shall be used to keep in repair his lot in Concord cemetery, and what remains over to be paid to the pastor."
