    Notes:

Duncan Ban's father, John(1729-1820) fought at the Battle of Quebec inSeptember 1759, with the 78th Fraser Highlanders, later returning toScotland where he married Christian McCalman.

    The following (from book MacMillans)

"Christening records for John and Christian's children begin with Donald,b. 1774, followed by Ann in 1775, Ewen in 1777, Mary in 1780, Duncan Banin 1783, and a second Ewen in 1784...; Highland families sometimes gave afavorite first name to more than one child). ....

....the family lived in the heart of Lochaber at Achintee farm in GlenNevis....the Achintee farmhouse, rebuilt in the early 1800s from GlenNevis granite, caters to bed and breakfast guests....behind it the smallwhite washed dwelling that housed John and Christian and their childrenis a 'self catering cottage'......

John's father, Angus MacMillan, was a bodyguard/servant to AlexanderCameron 12th of Glennevis.

........Achintee Farm belonged to a Cameron who held other farms in thearea and owned Ben Nevis as well....the joint tenants at Achinteeincluded John McMillan and his brother, Duncan...."

The above family excerpt was taken from book, "MacMillans, by D.MacMillan"
    From Margaret Cameron

I think John(1729-1820) had a brother, Ewen, and I think descendants ofthis brother settled in Lochiel Township.
