- Alexander Douglass, aged more than 73 years, died at his home at Deckers Point on Tuesday night of last week after an illness of a few days following a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Douglass was one of the highly esteemed residents of that section of the county and had resided in Deckers Point for 23 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Barnabas Douglass and was born near Cherry Tree on April 7, 1853. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie Garman, daughter of Mr: and Mrs. John Garman, of near Cherry Tree, 49 years ago, and spent his entire active life as a farmer. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Baptist church of Deckers Point. He leaves his aged widow and these children: Stephen Douglass, of Shelocta; Earl Douglass, of Pittsburgh; Abbie, wife of Merle Sheesley, of Deckers Point, and Roy A. Douglass, of Indiana. Frank Douglass, of Ninth street, and Mrs. William Graff, of Indiana, R. D., are brother and sister of the deceased. Funeral services were held in the Deckers Point Bapttat church Friday afternoon and burial was made in the Best graveyard.

Alexander Douglas died at his residence at Deckers Point on January 19th, 1926. He was married to Annie Garman February 18th, 1877. To this union we're born fourteen children of which ten preceded him to the grave. The following survive the deceased, his widow and children, Stephen A. Douglas of Shelocta, Pa., Harvey Earl Douglas of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Murl Sheesley of Marion, Center, Pa., and Roy A. Douglass of Indiana. Alexander Douglass was born on April 7, 1855, died January 19th, 1926, aged 72 years, 9 months and 12 days. He was a member of .Shilo Baptist Church, Deckers Point and a charter member of Prosperity Grange No. 1700. Interment made February 22 in the Best Cemetery, services conducted by Rev. D. R. Bolvin of Dixonville, Pa.
