Book Quote; Jacob Davies Douglas, born in Newtown-Limavady, Co. Derry, June 11, 1788 and was second son of Jackson Douglas, of the same place, by his wife Jane, dau. of Rev. Jacob Davies a Presbyterian clergyman of Bovelly, and grandson of Rev. James Douglas, of Newtown-Limavady, by his wife Margaret Clarke. The latter [James and Margaret] had seven children, Samuel, James, Anne, Elizabeth, Margaret, Rebecca and Jane. Jackson Douglas came to America with his parents in 1798, and died soon after, in Baltimore, Maryland, leaving [4] children; James, Jacob Davies (above), Samuel, Sarah Glen Douglas. Jacob Davies served in the war of 1812-15 as sergeant-major???.. Jackson's sons James and Jacob Davies lived in Alexandria, VA in the early 1800s.
