Services for Wilbur L. Jacobs, 74, 2104 West 70th Street, Davenport(IA), are 1:30 p.m. Monday at McGinnis-Chambers & Sass, Bettendorf(IA). Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery with militaryrites conducted by the Davenport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 828.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until services. Memorial may be made to theVolunteer Program at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.Mr. Jacobs died Friday, February 12, 1993, at the VeteransAdministration Hospital. Wilbur Jacobs was born July 26, 1918, in NewBoston, Ill., the son of Lewis and Florence Hand Jacobs. He marriedBonnie Lee Richards on Feb 27, 1975, in Rhode Island (Rock Island).He worked for John Deere Company, East Moline Works, retiring in 1988after 20 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a memberof the Davenport VFW Post 828. He enjoyed travel, fishing and sports.
Survivors include the widow; a stepdaughter, Willadean Fleming,Davenport; stepsons, Clyde Richards, Jacksonville, Fla. Ira Richards,St. Louis, Mo., Harold Richards, serving in the U.S. Air Force inKorea, Bobby Richards, Buffalo, Iowa., Billy Richards, Davenport; 19stepgrandchildren; sisters, Pauline Graber, Bloomingdale, Ohio, andNellie Lossie (Lacaci) of Chicago; brothers, Sam Jacobs, Rock Island,Wayne Jacobs, Missouri, and George Jacobs (Juhl), Indiana."
