- Per Joyce Lorraine Clore Elkins, "Thomas Nathaniel Rector: Secondchild of William Henry and Martha Jane Kiger Rector. We spent many agood times on the 20 Acres, known to us as "Uncle Tom's old homeplace" in Grange Corner, Indiana. Bought by his father and left tohim. I remember Sugar Creek running at the back of the property, theapple orchard, hills and hollows and grapevine swings, mushroom andginshang hunting and my dad collecting wild honey. Also, the logcabins, one next to the road, but mostly the one in the woods.Collected water from a spring and eat mostly what was in season. Suchgood memories." Per Joyce Lorraine Clore Elkins, "Bessie Kiger Townsend: Was thedaughter of George (b. 26 Aug 1869 d. 09 Jan 1950) and Minnie SheelyKiger (b. 12 Feb 1877 d. 10 June 1955). Both are buried at WoldCreek Cemetery, Grange Corner, near Wallace, Indiana. Bessie sold thehome place in 1966. She had sisters: Dolly Kiger who married TommyRector; Marie Kiger who married Archie Purcell; Flossie Kiger whomarried Perely Crowder; Brothers: Lambert Kiger who married SallyUnknown; Ed Kiger who married Betty Unknown." "I remember going totheir home when I was a child; Called, 'Uncle Tom's Old Home Place'.Originally bought by William H. and Martha Kiger Rector. All heirs(including me) had to sign when Bess sold it after Thomas died, about1966. It was approximately 20 acres and bordered Sugar Creek, nearGrange Corner, Indiana."
