- The Livingstone s of Saltcoats died out in the 18th C.
George died in 1587, his Testament being entered into the Books of Council & Session on 8th January 1587/8. The inventory lists the crops and stock associated with Saltcoats Mains Farm which the Lairds controlled directly up to the middle of the 17th C. It lists milled oats, oats in the barn and barnyard of Saltcoats Mains, oats and wheat in the ground (sown) with estimated values, plus the 14 oxen used to plough the fields. They also ran sheep, having 40 ewes and 20 hoggits. Total Inventory value was ?962-4s-2d (Scots). There were no debts owing to George while he owed others ?68.
