Oscar Marion Eddingfield

Oscar Marion Eddingfield, a very prosperous farmer, age 66 years, d.at his home, two mi. W. of New Ross, March 7, 1919. Deceased was b. inButler Co, Ohio May 18, 1853, and moved to a farm near New Ross, IN atthe age of 6 where he continued to reside until his death. Deceasedwas marr. to Nancy E. REDENBAUGH Jan 20, 1876. To this union were b.four children. Deceased united with the Christian Church at Ladoga Jan28, 1878, and was a faithful and consistent member. He began in youthto till the soil, and worked unceasingly to clear the forest, drainthe land and make it produce abundantly. As a husband and father hewas kind and a good provider; as a neighbor, he was unexcelled; as aman, he was honest and upright in all his dealings. It is said of himthat he paid his helpers every night, never wanting to owe anyone.Rev. SG Smith, pastor of the Ladoga Christian Church, conducted thefuneral serv. Sun. aft. at 2 o'clock from the residence and the burialwas at the New Ross Cemetery Dec. is survived by his wife, twodaughters, Mrs. Emma Layne and Mrs. Iva Rice of Indianapolis; twosons, Raymond & Ernest Eddingfield of New Ross; three brothers, asister, 7 grandchi. and a host of friends are left to mourn theirloss.
