"Duncan Ban was a cousin to Mary, through the McCalman and MacMillanlines, the sister in law to Ewen(mig. 1827)
Duncan Ban was also a cousin to Ewen through the MacMillan line.throughEwen MacMillan 2nd of Murlaggan, etc.
My gtgt grandfather, Duncan Ban MacMillan, was a 'Merchant in Glasgow',my Grandmother Cameron always stated, but never told us he was in thebusiness of selling 'spirits'!! before mig. to Canada c 1815. His son,gt Uncle Aleck, returned to Glennevis and to Loch Arkaig in 1883 to visitrelatives. Duncan Ban was born at the foot of Bennevis on Achinteefarm...
Duncan Ban's father, John(1729-1820) fought at the Battle of Quebec inSeptember 1759, with the 78th Fraser Highlanders, later returning toScotland where he married Christian McCalman.
There was one MacMillan family that settled in LochielTownship(SDandG)which was related to Duncan Ban(Glennevis)."

"Five of my gt uncles(including gt uncle Aleck) migrated to Wisconsin(sons of Duncan Ban)and were in the logging business on the Black Riverand had the first raft of logs down the Mississippi. LaCrosse was theirhome for a long time, and one of the uncles was a Mayor of LaCrosse atone time.. The oldest son, Daniel, was married to my gt grandfather'ssister, Isabella Sutherland. He was tragically killed in Wisconsin, buthis two sons, George and Allan, remained in LaCrosse.
George's daughter, May, married Will Cargill Jr."
