    Registered birth # 20299, date of birth shown as "1861". Came to WA from
    Ballarat about 1905 to assist sister Mary who had been deserted by Rev James
    at Kalgan R. Albany. Moved to Wungong about 1908, to property called
    "Perringa". Property resumed to allow for construction of Wungong Dam, in
    1925. Purchased two properties in Armadale (Olga's and one other).Served as a
    Councillor on Armadale Roads Board from 1911 to 1921. Following deathof
    "Tillie" in 1928 remarried old school friend, Alice Groucott.

    "Joseph Champion was born in 1810, and was killed in a mine accident and so
    was presumably a tin or coal miner.
    His son Henry came to Australia with his bride about 1850, as far as is
    known his siblings remained in Cornwall England.
    The (?Cornwall) home of Joseph Champion is now a pile of stones on the
    property of Gerald and John Champion. A dairy farm, the property was at one
    time sold, leased and then repurchased by James Champion, father of Gerald and
    John. The Champions have been associated with the property for nearly200
    years. It appears that Gerald and John are direct descendants of Joseph Champion.
    There is also a sister, Mavis Champion, address Upper Bolitho, Cranbourne
    (sic) Cornwall"
