    The following obituary was found between the pages of the old JB and SM Burleson family Bible. It is in the hands of Harold D. Robinson, Rt. 4 Box 566 Marion NC. (1993) 'Obituary of Annie Riddle' (handwritten by an unknown person) Born June 6th 1875 and died Dec, 7th 1900 age 25 yr 6 mo 1d. She professed Religion in her eleventh year, joined the Baptist Church and lived an orderly member. She bore her sicness patiently withe no grumbling takling several spell of talking and tell how she enjoyed her religion Earnestly requesting the family all to mett her in heaven and all the neighbors that come in to see her. She would ask them to mett her. She got happy a few days before she died and said she would soon be home wher she would be withe Sammie, Emma and her three little children and spoke of her little girl named Jewel, which she said was a blessed little babe. She said she would soon be withe it where she cold take it in her arms walke the golden streets and shout for ever. She all so said that Sammie and Emma would carry her safe home. Her father then asked her to let him fix her head upon her pilow. She said no, papa, my head is easy now.
    It is believed that her reference to Sammie was to brother Samuel, born Feb. 20, 1874, died Mar. 6, 1899, age 25. It is also believed that her reference to Emma was to her sister Emma B., born Mar. 12, 1885 and died Nov. 3, 1900, just about one month prior to Annie.

    Anna married Lunel Mcgilvary Riddle on 29 Mar 1894 in Yancey Co., North Carolina. Lunel (son of Benjamin Britton Riddle and Nancy Elmore Peake) was born on 8 Jan 1877 in Yancey Co., North Carolina; died on 30 Sep 1953 in Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina; was buried on 3 Oct 1953 in West Memorial Park Cemetery, Weaverville, Madison Co., North Carolina.     1. Garrett Riddle was born on 11 Nov 1895 in Yancey Co., North Carolina; died on 29 Sep 1944 in Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina; was buried on 1 Oct 1944 in West Memorial Park Cemetery, Weaverville, Madison Co., North Carolina.
    2. James Britton Riddle was born on 6 Jan 1896; died on 28 May 1896; was buried in Burleson Cemetery (On Pole Cat Branch), Yancey Co., North Carolina.
    3. Malissie Jewell Riddle was born on 23 May 1898; died on 6 May 1899; was buried in Burleson Cemetery #15, Black Mountain Chruch, NC 197 N, Barnardsville, Yancey Co., North Carolina.
    4. Joe Emma Riddle was born on 30 Sep 1900 in Pensacola, Yancey Co., North Carolina; died on 1 Nov 1900 in Pensacola, Yancey Co., North Carolina; was buried in Burleson Cemetery #15 (On Pole Cat Branch), Yancey Co., North Carolina.
