    Companion the Most Honourable Order of the Bath
    Alexander Robert Kerr (1770 ? 4 August 1831) was a Royal Navy officer of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century who is best known for his service as captain of the ship of the line HMS Revenge at the Battle of Basque Roads in 1809 and his subsequent involvement in the court-martial of Admiral Lord Gambier which followed. He had earlier in his career fought and been badly wounded at the Action of 31 July 1793 off the coast of New Jersey. Kerr was born in 1770, the son of Robert Kerr, a Royal Navy lieutenant.

    MATILDA ANN, third daughter, died 4th September 1835, aged 17 years;
    JOHN HUNTER, youngest son, died at Melbourne, Australia, 6th February 1874, aged 53 years;
    CHARLES MAULE, second son, died 27th July 1886, aged 74 years;
    Admiral ROBERT KERR, eldest son, died at Cheltenham 29th October 1886, aged 80 years;
    ANNA MARIA BERESFORD, their youngest daughter, died 12th November 1900, aged 76 years.

    JOHN HARRY MAULE, infant son of Charles M. Kerr, Esq., died 31st January i860, aged 10 months;
    CHARLIE, the beloved only surviving child of Charles M. Kerr, who died at Manitoba, Canada, on the 11th October 1883, aged 31.
    ALEXANDER ROBERT KERR, Lieutenant R.N., died at Malta 30th December 1872, aged 28;
    JOHN GEORGE FORMAN KERR, Lieutenant R.N., died at Cheltenham 8th April 1875, aged 26, only sons of Admiral R. Kerr;
    CECILIA, his daughter, wife of Captain Fulton, Durham Light Infantry, died at Meerut, India, 12th January 1882;
    MARGARET ELIZABETH, wife of Admiral Robert Kerr, died at Cheltenham 27th August 1894, aged 84.

    CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH, his beloved only daughter, died at Hastings 10th February 1864, 15 years.

    CECILIA AITCHISON, his widow, eldest daughter of Captain A. R. Kerr, R.N., C.B., died 2nd September 1898, aged 88 years.
