12. | Malcolm 3rd Lord Fleming was born about 1494 in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire, Scotland (son of John 2nd Lord Fleming and Eupheme Drummond); died on 10 Sep 1547 in Battle Of Pinkie. Notes:
During an eventful life, he was captured at Solway Moss in 1542 and marched to the Tower of London. Subsequently released with his son held hostage, Malcolm at first appeared to support Henry VIII's proposal to marry the English king's son to the infant queen Mary but then changed his position. Prior to his death on the battlefield at Pinkie in 1547, he started work building a collegiate church in Biggar, the last of its kind in Scotland.
